The current generation is like a young fellow who inherits a thriving business from his grandfather. The old man came to this country with nothing and built a tremendous success for himself that also benefitted everyone else. Now the grandson is in charge and is spending his inheritance on cocaine and skanks from Jersey. Well done, boy.
It isn't all bad. There is a whole group of people as represented by the Tea Party. They are not nearly ready to give it all up yet and accept the sewage of socialism. The American Dream is not dead simply because it isn't American. The desire to be free and to build a life for yourself isn't universal (see Quebec, France, and most of the Middle East), but it is common enough that it can never be fully purged. Not even Barack Obama's teleprompter has that power.
